Sunday 21st
Marbled White were out in great numbers in the New Downs area, over 50 were counted.
Tuesday 16th
On BMS transect there were 162 Butterflies of 14 species. Meadow Brown were most numerous at 34 with Painted Lady a very close second at 32. Marbled Whites were ticking up in numbers with seven present. Four Small Tortoiseshell were seen over the day.
Friday 12th
The first Marbled White was on the Estate.
Monday 8th
Over 250 Peacock caterpillars were on the Nettles along the North Stream.
Monday 1st
The influx of Painted Ladies continued. At least 90 individuals were nectaring on the flowering Bramble around the Restharrow Scrape area. The next generation of Red Admirals and Small Tortoiseshells seems to be starting too.
