Evening Bat Walks

Join us on one of our informal evening walks from the SBBOT Field Centre to look for Bats (once they become active). Bring along bat detectors if you have them.

Friday June 21st

Meet at 8pm in the Observatory car park

Bring binoculars and a bat detector if you have one.  We will walk down to Restharrow Scrape to watch the sunset and the birds settling down to roost, then wander back and listen to the bats foraging en route.  If the moth trap is out we should see several bats in the Observatory car park. 20 places, Tickets £5.  Not suitable for under 5s.

Saturday July 6th

Meet at 8pm in the Observatory car park

Meet at entrance to Gazen Salts car park, Sandwich, 8pm

We will walk into the Gazen Salts nature reserve and along the river bank to pick up foraging bat activity. 20 places, Tickets £5.  Not suitable for under 5s.

Meet in the Observatory car park at 8pm

Tonight we will walk a short distance along the track towards Worth, then head back in time to catch the bats flying around the moth trap in the car park.  20 places, Tickets £5.  Not suitable for under 5s.
