Wednesday 27th
Four Peacocks, three Small Whites, four Green-veined Whites, one Large White, three Speckled Woods, six Red Admirals, one Meadow Brown, one Small Heath, one comma, and one Gatekeeper were on Worth during a strengthening breeze.
Friday 22nd
The numbers of butterflies on the BMS Transect are just starting to drop. Today there were 132 individuals of 13 species. Small Heath led the way with 48, followed by Meadow Brown on 28, and Small Copper on 11.
Friday 15th
Singles of Clouded Yellow and Painted Lady were on RSPB Worth marshes.
Tuesday 12th
Seven Green-veined Whites, 15 Small Whites, eight Gatekeepers, two Small Heaths, a Holly Blue, a Common Blue, two Brown Argus, two Speckled Woods, two Red Admirals, a Peacock, and a Comma were on the Green Wall.
Sunday 10th
Two Clouded Yellows were at the Point.
Friday 8th
The BMS Transect produced 204 butterflies of 16 species. Gatekeeper was the most numerous with 97. Of note was a late Essex Skipper.
Wednesday 6th
The good numbers of Clouded Yellow continued with five on New Downs.
Tuesday 5th
Two helice Clouded Yellows were in the Jubilee Field. Five Walls were on RSPB Worth marshes.
Friday 1st
Two Clouded Yellows were in the Whitehouse.
