Self-catering Accommodation
Whatever your reason for visiting Kent, the Field Centre offers basic modern, comfortable, self-catering accommodation, allowing you to be on hand for early morning bird ringing, late night moth trapping, club events or just more time to explore the local area. NB If you are already a member of SBBOT you are entitled to a discount. This requires a voucher which you can find under 'Discounts' in the 'members only' area of this website (that only members can fully access)... you will need to sign up to the members area to access it. Click on Members Area on the main menu and follow the instructions there.
Apartment, Family Room & Twin Rooms
The newly refurbished apartment is self-contained with private bathroom, sitting room, kitchenette & bedroom with twin beds and a separate entrance.
Other guests have use of shared shower facilities, the observatory kitchen, dining room and the accommodation lounge.
All bedding and towels are provided.
Most of our accommodation consists of twin rooms (although there is one single room available).
However, the family room has two single beds and two bunks (i.e. it can sleep six in total).
Please let us know when booking a twin room if you require a room that has a sink, as not all rooms do.
Accommodation Prices
You may check-in to your room from 2.00pm and rooms must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure to enable rooms to be cleaned and bedding changed. Please take all your belongings with you. If you cannot leave belongings in the boot of your car please ask staff if you can keep them elsewhere, this may not always be possible if staff are not available.
Full payment should be made in advance (see below). Rising costs have forced us to raise our prices, but have kept them as affordable as possible. Members will need to log in to the member's area for the 20% discount code

Terms & Conditions
Membership started when booking the accommodation or while staying will not affect the fees for the current visit; i.e. no reductions this time.
Bookings are secured by full payment in advance. Refunds can not be made within two weeks of the booking date, so please carry travel insurance. If a refund is made, any transaction charges we have to pay will be deducted (Such as Credit Card Charges or STRIPE etc). We need at least three working days notice in order to arrange a booking. We do not take last minute bookings. (Because we would not be able to guarantee staff are on hand to prepare rooms)
For operational or maintenance reasons it is very occassionally necessary to switch a booking to a different but equivalent room.
Please be aware that we cannot accept payment on arrival. In exceptional circumstances, and by arrangement, payment can be made straight into our bank account (Sort Code: 82-11-07 Account number: 30347182) if there is a difficulty using the on-line booking system.
Sorry but we cannot allow pets and for safety, and the comfort of others, smoking or vaping is not permitted anywhere in the building.
(Trained disability guide dogs are permitted by arrangement)
