Thursday 24th

Our first Orange-tip of the year was on the Estate.

Wednesday 23rd

Small Whites were on Worth marshes and New Downs.

Monday 21st

There were six each of Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell on Worth marshes, and a Comma on the Estate.

Friday 18th

A Peacock and three Small Tortoiseshells were on New Downs and another Peacock was seen on the Estate.

Thursday 17th

A Comma and three Red Admirals were seen on the Estate today and a Small White was on the Green Wall, just shy of our earliest ever record (15th March 2017).

Monday 14th

The good weather continues to tempt a few butterflies out. There were two Peacocks and a Small Tortoiseshell by the Little Elms.

Thursday 10th

It was a lovely day today. A Small Tortoiseshell and two Peacocks were on the Estate and the year's first Comma was on New Downs.

Tuesday 8th

A Peacock was on Worth marshes.

Thursday 3rd

A Small Tortoiseshell on Worth marshes was our first record of the year. A few Red Admirals and a Peacock were also seen in February. Depending on the weather over the next few weeks we should see more species on the wing, perhaps our first Orange-tips before the end of the month.
