Tuesday 28th
Despite the windy and cold conditions we discovered our first Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly of the year. The immature male in the Dragonfly Pond Fields was (unsurprisingly) our earliest ever record.
Monday 27th
Another nine Large Red Damselflies were on RSPB Worth Marshes, plus two Variable and seven Common Blue Damselflies, and a Hairy Dragonfly. A Broad-bodied Chaser was on the Estate.

Saturday 25th
Our first Broad-bodied Chaser was on the Estate.
Friday 24th
Our first Blue-tailed Damselfly was in the Dragonfly Pond Field.
Thursday 23rd
Up to 15 Large Red Damselfly were taking shelter near the Great Wood on RSPB Worth Marshes, a new record count for the area. Three Hairy Dragonflies and a Variable Damselfly were also present.
Wednesday 22nd
A Hairy Dragonfly was hawking around the Oasis.
Monday 20th
Our first Common Blue Damselfly was on the Dragonfly Pools on the Estate.
Saturday 18th
Another first from RSPB Worth Marshes with a Large Red Damselfly photographed by a visitor.
Friday 17th
A Hairy Dragonfly was on RSPB Worth Marshes.
Tuesday 14th
Our Odonata season kicked off with a Variable Damselfly on RSPB Worth Marshes (with two other unidentified damselflies also present). This is our earliest ever record for this species (previously 18th April 2024).
