Thursday 30th
Wall was the most numerous butterfly on the Estate (again) with at least 12 seen. It's quite an amazing turnaround after how perilous the population looked five years or so back.

Monday 27th
Ten species on the Estate today with one Large White, two Small Whites, two Green-veined Whites, two Orange-tips, four Small Coppers, one Holly Blue, three Red Admirals, one Peacock, four Speckled Woods, and six Walls.
Thursday 23rd
Despite the wind, a Butterfly Monitoring Scheme transect revealed 46 Butterflies across the Estate, notably eight Small Coppers, two Painted Ladies, and our first Wall Brown of the year.
Wednesday 22nd
A quick walk around the Oasis produced a Painted Lady, a Speckled Wood, two Peacocks, five Small Whites, and two Orange-tips.
Tuesday 14th
Four Green-veined Whites, one Orange-tip, six Peacocks, one Red Admiral, and six Speckled Woods were on Worth, five Green-veined Whites, one Small White, three Peacocks, and four Speckled Woods were at the Point, and three Green-veined Whites, two Painted Ladies, one Peacock, and one Orange-tip were on New Downs.
Sunday 12th
The first two Painted Ladies of the year must have arrived on the southerly breeze earlier.
Wednesday 8th
Our first butterfly transect of the year was productive enough for this early in the season. There were ten Peacocks, two Speckled Woods, one Green-veined White, and one Comma.
Tuesday 7th
Our first Small White was on the Green Wall.
Monday 6th
Many butterflies were awakened by the spring sunshine. RSPB Worth Marshes had ten Peacocks, five Speckled Woods, and two Green-veined Whites. On the Estate there was a Green-veined White and our first Orange-tip of the season.
Thursday 2nd
Our first Green-veined White was in Waldershare Gully.
