My husband, John, and I have lived in Broadstairs for over 30 years, both originally from Dublin.  We have been members of SBBOT for a few years.  I often go down with John to the field centre for walks through the reserve and to spend time in the hides.  John is currently a volunteer for both conversation and education.  He is a keen photographer so will rarely be seen without a camera or heavy backpack with him!

I enjoy being outdoors – enjoy watching the birds, butterflies and insects, as well as looking at the flora and fauna.  We have plans now that we have more time to travel to see the wildlife in other parts of the world hopefully.

I am a keen embroiderer, and also enjoy botanical art which I took up during lockdown.  I am currently working on an embroidery of some of the colourful birds we saw on a holiday a few years ago in Costa Rica, though it will take some time to complete!

I am a Chartered Accountant, having worked for many years for a business division (formerly known as SERICOL) within the FUJIFILM group.  I travelled a lot internationally and was involved in many projects, including acquiring and integrating companies for the group.  My final role before I retired early in late 2018 was as the local Finance and IT director in Broadstairs.  For my sins, I was asked to return for a short while early last year to FUJIFILM to help senior management of the division with some of the companies, finally retiring again earlier this year.  I currently work with another local charity, Carers Support East Kent based at Discovery Park in Sandwich where I am the Treasurer/Trustee.
