Urban Birder Walk
David Lindo, one of our Patrons, has offered a walk at Sandwich Bay to help celebrate his 20 years as the Urban Birder. He is not charging us a fee for this for which we thank him. The timings are from 8.30am to midday on Saturday 26th September. The £20 tickets are now available on Ticket Tailor and include the walk and a light lunch. David will also be doing a book signing, open to all, after the walk. There is a maximum of 20 tickets available.

Big Bird Migration Day
Sunday 27th September (start 9am, finish at 4pm) is our Big Bird Migration Day in association with KOS.

Visible Migration Watch from Beach near Sandilands -starting at 6.30am
Talks on RSPB Worth Marshes
Ringing Demonstration- Weather permitting
Food and Drinks/ Refreshments throughout the day

What would you think if we told you that, for once, identifying the birds around you is positively discouraged?
Welcome to Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing. There is no bath and no swimwear involved! Instead, it is about slowing down and spending quiet, mindful time in nature, using our senses to notice the sounds, textures, scents and atmosphere around us.

SBBOT Calendar 2027
Our calendar is made up of wonderful wildlife photos, all taken by our members. Last year, sales of the calendar brought in about £350 – wouldn't it be great if we could surpass that this year? As everyone knows "every little helps" and in our case it helps pay for all the little things that help us to keep the observatory going for members, visitors and, of course, our local wildlife.
The Calendar costs just £10 if you collect it from the Field Centre shop. If you want to have it sent to you, it costs £12.50 from Ticket Tailor (see the link below).
