This is a quiet time of year for Moths. A little trapping is done and if there is something exciting to report it will be recorded here, but otherwise we will start monthly recording when the spring arrives.
A small increase in temperature tempted out the moth trap for the first time in a few weeks. Three Winter Moths were the first of the year and probably the last new addition to our year list unless something surprises us. Singles of December Moth and Red-line Quaker were recorded, the latter our latest record by over a month. A few Scrobipalpa costella and an Acleris hastiana made up the rest.
