I have been a member of wildlife and environmental organisations all my adult life, happily participating in annual scientific field surveys for the International Otter Survival Fund on the Isle of Skye in the 1990s, after which I enjoyed various voluntary pursuits at the WWT London Wetland Centre whilst having to reside in the city for work. Regular “working holidays” courtesy of The National Trust helped save my sanity during those long years spent in The Big Smoke!
I moved back to Kent a few years ago and am now semi-retired. My career path has taken me from TV scriptwriter and script editor to resident Senior Trust Fundraiser for the National Autistic Society and the I-CAN Children’s Communication Charity, for whom I wrote bids which included government statutory grants, private charitable donations, and then managing any follow-on project reports that resulted from successful support.
It is my hope that I can assist SBBOT in gaining future financial underpinning for those all-important core costs, as well as grant support for current - and even potential - projects.
