There are several very impressive Southern Hawkers on the Estate at the moment. This one was photographed in the Elms this morning.

A Lestes damselfly was seen in the Haven at the weekend, but not identfied with certainty, but this morning a WILLOW EMERALD DAMSELFLY was found, not far away and also in the Haven. Possibly the same insect, it was the first record of this recent colonist for the Observatory.

Among a good variety of species on the wing at the moment, a Migrant Hawker was seen emerging from its larval case; the first time such an event has been noted locally, although exuviae have been found on Restharrow Scrape
