Monday March 30th
To say that recent weather has been unpleasant would be a bit of an understatement, so the sight of a lovely male Orange Tip along Worth track was absolutely amazing. It is the earliest locally by ten days. There were also 3 Small Tortoiseshells.
Friday March 27th
The recent cold weather has depressed activity almost entirely, with butterflies on only six days so far this month, but in warm sunshine out of the wind Small White, Comma, Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock were recorded.
Tuesday March 10th
3 Small Tortoiseshells were recorded on the Estate, in sunny spots sheltered from the NE breeze.
Sunday March 8th
Small Tortoiseshells were seen at HQ and on New Downs and the first Peacock of spring was fluttering along the Haven.
Friday February 27th
A Red Admiral was seen over Restharrow Dunes this morning.
Tuesday February 17th
The first butterfly of 2015 was a Small Tortoiseshell, basking in a sheltered spot of Little Gully.
