It was some surprise to see a Small Tortoiseshell fly in off the sea. A strange record and our first butterfly to be recorded this year.

This month saw 4,243 moths of 258 species recorded around the Obs! A slow start with the cold and wind following on from April, but numbers skyrocketed once the hot spells and southerly winds set in.
