{"id":6144,"date":"2023-05-02T08:39:47","date_gmt":"2023-05-02T08:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/?p=6144"},"modified":"2023-08-10T13:48:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T13:48:11","slug":"butterflies-may-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/butterflies-may-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Butterflies: May 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Wednesday 24th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The BMS Transect produced three Orange-tips, five Small Coppers, two Brown Argus, one <strong>Common Blue<\/strong>, one Holly Blue, one Red Admiral, two Peacocks, two Speckled Woods, three Walls, and 15 Small Heaths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>M<span style=\"color: #000000;\">onday 22nd<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A count of ten Brown Argus on the Estate comprised a group of eight near the Cellars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sunday 21st<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Two Walls were on New Downs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Friday 19th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Wall on the Green Wall was a rare sight for this area. Another example of terrific spring they've had.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wednesday<\/span> 17th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The amazing showing of Walls on Worth continued with at least 14, perhaps, 16 seen today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Tuesday 16th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The BMS Transect had 23 butterflies of nine species. Two Walls were of note plus the first <strong>Brown Argus<\/strong> of the year.
