At the Observatory there was a Southern Hawker and two Willow Emerald Damselflies. Over on RSPB Worth marshes there were another two Willow Emerald Damselflies, a Lesser Emperor, five Brown Hawkers, two Norfolk Hawkers, six Migrant Hawkers, ten Black-tailed Skimmers, and ten Common Darters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Friday 25th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Lesser Emperor was in the Dragonfly Pond Field again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Saturday 19th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In-between the mega rain storms there a few people looking for Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies. At least 12 were found on the pools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Friday 18th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Lesser Emperor was on Restharrow Scrape and a <strong>Migrant Hawker<\/strong> in the Dragonfly Pond fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Thursday 17th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There was a concerted look around the Dragonfly Pools now that the wind had died down. At least nine Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies were found including a teneral female, two immature <em>aurantiaca<\/em> females, three immature males, two adult males, and an unaged male.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12087\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12087\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12087 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"527\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20250715-WA0004.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12087\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly by A.Lipczynski<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Tuesday 15th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After a gap of a few months it was some surprise to see a freshly emerged immature Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly on the Dragonfly Pools before the rain set in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Friday 11th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On the Green Wall three Southern Migrant Hawkers, a Brown Hawker, two Scarce Chasers, and a Banded Demoiselle were on display along the river. A <strong>Willow Emerald Damselfly<\/strong> was new for the year along the edge of the Great Wood on RSPB Worth Marshes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Thursday 10th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">RSPB Worth Marshes held eight Emperor Dragonflies, six Brown Hawkers, two Norfolk Hawkers, 12 Black-tailed Skimmers, four Ruddy Darters and ten Common Darters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Wednesday 9th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A <strong>Southern Hawker<\/strong> was in The Elms. Elsewhere on The Estate was a male <strong>Southern Migrant Hawker<\/strong>, two Migrant Hawkers, two Brown Hawkers and four Common Darters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Tuesday 8th<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An Emperor Dragonfly was ovipositing on the Obs Dipping Pond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Sunday 6th\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Dragonfly Field there were ten Emerald Damselflies, 16 Blue-tailed Damselflies, six Common Blues, four Dainty, single Azure, Red-eyed and, Small Red-eyed Damselflies plus a Common Darter and two Black-tailed Skimmers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Thursday 3rd<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A male Brown Hawker was around the Haven ringing area and six Common Darters were on the Estate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11953\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11953\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11953 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-1536x1026.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04765-2048x1368.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11953\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brown Hawker by J.
