Elsewhere on the Estate there were three Emperors, four Black-tailed Skimmers, six Common Darters, two Ruddy Darters, one Norfolk Hawker, three Blue-tailed Damselflies, eight Emerald Damselflies, a Banded Demoiselle, and our first <strong>Brown Hawker<\/strong> of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tuesday 24th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Three Red-veined Darters and a Ruddy Darter were on the Estate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sunday 22nd<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Dainty Damselfly photographed on RSPB Worth marshes was the first record for this subsite and further proof that this species is doing well and spreading. Late news also came in of a male <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BLACK DARTER<\/strong><\/span> at the Hoverport. The first local (and possibly Kent) record since the invasion in the 1990's.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wednesday 18th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A very good mix on the Green Wall included <strong>67<\/strong> Banded Demoiselles, 55 Common Blue Damselflies, 70 Azure Damselflies, 18 Blue-tailed Damselflies, eight Red-eyed Damselflies, nine Emperors, two Lesser Emperors, <strong>23<\/strong> Scarce Chasers, one Black-tailed Skimmer, four Norfolk Hawkers, one (late) Hairy Dragonfly, three Common Darters, and three Red-veined Darters.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11852\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11852\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11852 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-1024x685.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-1536x1028.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC06140-2048x1371.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11852\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Red-veined Darter by D.Elliot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tuesday 17th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Two Red-veined Darters, two Common Darters, one Black-tailed Skimmer, one Broad-bodied Chaser, two Emperors, two Emerald Damselflies, two Variable Damselflies, four Common Blue Damselflies, one Red-eyed Damselfly, ten Blue-tailed Damselflies, and 80 Dainty Damselflies were seen around the Dragonfly Pond Field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Saturday 14th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Well over 250 Dainty Damselflies were seen on the Dragonfly Pond Fields, along with Variable Damselfly, five freshly emerged Emerald Damselflies, and a few Broad-bodied Chasers. <strong>Lesser Emperor<\/strong>, Norfolk Hawker, and Scarce Chaser were all seen inland on RSPB Worth marshes too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Friday 13th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our first <strong>Southern Emerald Damselfly<\/strong> was photographed on RSPB Worth marshes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thursday 12th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Norfolk Hawker was on Prince's Golf Course. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tuesday 10th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Two Scarce Chasers were in Middle Field and our first two <strong>Common Darters<\/strong> were on Guilford Rd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Monday 9th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There was a good haul of 23 Banded Demoiselles, 320 Blue-tailed Damselflies, two Red-eyed Damselflies, and 30 Common Blue Damselflies along the North Stream between the Observatory and the Worth track.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wednesday 4th<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Most interesting was at least 12 Dainty Damselflies seen in the northern parts of our Recording Area, indicative of a new colony some distance from the original on the Estate.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday 29th A female Southern Migrant Hawker was the first of the year patrolling around the Oasis along with a Norfolk Hawker.
