Friday 27th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There were 342 butterflies on the BMS Transect. Of particular note were 92 Small Whites, part of a large arrival seen along the Eastern coasts of England this week. Ten Commas and 29 Small Coppers were both noteworthy and three Gatekeepers were seen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 25th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our first Gatekeeper<\/strong> was on RSPB Worth marshes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monday 23rd<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Estate held 11 Small Coppers, ten Small Heaths, 16 Marbled Whites, six Peacocks, eight Meadow Browns, five Red Admirals, four Commas, 11 Small\/Essex Skippers, and one Large Skipper.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 18th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 31 Meadow Browns, one Large White, four Commas, four Small Heaths, three Holly Blues, one Essex Skipper, nine Small\/Essex Skippers, four Marbled Whites, eight Small Whites, three Green-veined Whites, eight Red Admirals, four Peacocks, and one Speckled Wood were on the Green Wall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday 17th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A Clouded Yellow flew over the Observatory building. <\/span><\/p>\n

Monday 16th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There were 146 butterflies of 13 species on the BMS Transect. Most numerous were the Small\/Essex Skippers with 56, followed by Meadow Brown and Small Heath. Seven Painted Ladies on the beach front was notable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunday 15th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our first Clouded Yellow<\/strong> flew through the Dragonfly Pond Field. Over on New Downs there were seven Marbled Whites, eight Meadow Browns, 22 Small Heaths, and nine Small\/Essex Skippers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday 10th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Three Large Skippers on the Estate was notable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monday 9th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our first Marbled White<\/strong> was on New Downs and only our second Large Skipper was on Worth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 4th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 20 Small Heaths, three Meadow Browns, and three Common Blues were at the Point.<\/span><\/p>\n
