Meeting approximately every six weeks, Home-educated children and their parents\/guardians regularly join us for a jam-packed adventurous, natured inspired mornings exploring our complex mixture of habitats, tracking a variety of different animals while learning about the natural heritage of our unique reserve.<\/span><\/p>\n

Children are encouraged to lead their own learning, doing as much for themselves as possible with help from accompanying adults. Great for problem-solving, communication, creativity and physical development.<\/p>\n

Each session explores a different theme, providing Home Educated children the opportunity to discover local wildlife and get stuck into practical activities which can include anything from pond-dipping to small mammal surveys to bird ringing and identification to practical conservation tasks.<\/p>\n

Joining our Home Ed group provides young naturalists the opportunity to further develop their passion for nature and the environment, learn from local experts in all aspects of natural history and its conservation, and meet other friendly, like-minded young wildlife enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

Led by an experienced team of education leaders and conservationists, we are based on the private Sandwich Bay estate and home to Restharrow Scrape, an artificial wetland which acts as a refuge for many birds, as well as woodland, grassland, dunes and beach!<\/p>\n
