Some activities have fees, but being a member means getting preferential rates - when you join take a look at our 'members only pages'<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory is supported by over 750 members, the life-blood of the Trust. Those who do not have an email address are sent a quarterly printed version of \"BayNews\" that includes sightings from the previous three months. In addition, all members receive a free copy of our Annual Report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Members can enjoy our regular <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/activities\/\">events<\/a> such as our ever-popular <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/talks\/\">Thursday illustrated lectures<\/a>, our <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/wednesday-courses\/\">Wednesday courses<\/a> and the regular <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/walks\/\">guided birding walks<\/a>. In addition to this, members can participate in all of our other activities including our quiz evenings and organised <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/day-trips-and-holidays\/\">birding trips and holidays<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Members of the Observatory will receive a Toll pass which can be traded for a car window screen sticker at the Toll Gate for free access to the Bird Observatory. (Please note: passes give access to the SBBO Field Centre only).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Members also benefit from reduced <a href=\"https:\/\/sbbot.org.uk\/2026\/accommodation\/\">accommodation<\/a> rates at the Field Centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Without our members the Trust would not function: they are involved in Bird Observatory work including ringing and censusing, conservation, organising events and maintaining the Field Centre.
