Meeting monthly our Bay Explorers are expert species inspectors, from identifying beaver tracks to knowing their ducks; this group have got their wildlife sussed.<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The club for those aged between 8 and 16, provides young people the opportunity to discover local wildlife and get stuck into practical activities which can include anything from pond-dipping to small mammal surveys to bird ringing and identification to practical conservation tasks.<\/span><\/div>\n

Joining Bay Explorers provides young naturalists the opportunity to further develop their passion for nature and the environment, learn from local experts in all aspects of natural history and its conservation, and meet other friendly, like-minded young wildlife enthusiasts.<\/span><\/div>\n

Led by an experienced team of education leaders and conservationists, we are based on the private Sandwich Bay estate and home to Restharrow Scrape, an artificial wetland which acts as a refuge for many birds, as well as woodland, grassland, dunes and beach! We will have you toad-al expert on wetland wildlife and our natural world in no time.<\/div>\n

Sessions typically cost \u00a36 per session. Due to child to adult ratios, we cannot accommodate children under the age of eight but run a variety of other events suitable for young people and families.<\/div>\n

This month our young nature lovers will be heading to Wildwood Trust \u2014 the inspiring re-wilding charity dedicated to protecting and restoring Britain\u2019s native wildlife.<\/div>\n

During our visit, we\u2019ll explore the park and discover some of the incredible conservation work happening right here in Kent, including a special talk all about Choughs and their remarkable reintroduction to the UK. These striking, red-billed birds were once lost from much of England, and we\u2019ll learn how conservationists are helping them return to our skies.<\/div>\n

We\u2019ll also become real wildlife detectives by taking part in a hands-on BioBlitz \u2014 working together to spot, identify, and record as many species as we can find around the park<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
