Friday 22nd

The cold NE airflow has really brought things to a grinding halt – we’ve trapped just three moths in the last two nights!

Wednesday 20th

A Spectacle was found in the building while doing the fire alarm test this morning (not the Spectacle – they aren’t allowed such responsibilities).

Friday 15th

Although there was nothing new last night, the collection of familiars did include the second Dark Sword-grass of the year.

Thursday 14th

A steady improvement continues, with Mullein (unrecorded last year) and Lead-coloured Drab new for the year last night.

Wednesday 13th

Twin-spotted Quaker was recorded for the first time this year last night.

Tuesday 12th

Despite, or perhaps because of, persistent rain last night a reasonable catch last night included the first Engrailed of the year.

Monday 11th

Last night’s collection included the first Powdered Quaker of the year.

Saturday 9th

The trap continues to yield between 20 and 30 moths each night, mostly Hebrew Characters and Clouded Drabs. A Brindled Beauty was new for the year last night.

Friday 1st

March signed off with an Angle Shades, bringing our macro total for the year thus far to 12. It might have seemed like very hard work so far, but we had recorded just 7 at the same time last year.
