Monday 26th

The best day of the year so far with six Butterflies of four species. Two Peacocks and Small Tortoiseshells stormed into the lead but a Comma in the Gullies was our first for the year and best of all, a male Brimstone near the Little Elms, also new for the year and quite scarce round these parts.

Friday 23rd

A brief spell of sunshine in the afternoon brought our first two Peacocks of the year on the Estate.

Wednesday 21st

The recent gruesome weather lifted enough to prompt out two Small Tortoiseshells on the Estate, but spring warmth still seems some way off.

Friday 16th

A sunny afternoon finally tempted out a few butterflies, three more Small Tortoiseshells to be precise with two on the Estate and one on the Green Wall.
