There are over 250 species of solitary bee in Britain. This workshop will give you a basic introduction to the ecology and identification of these fascinating insects. We will focus on common species and groups that you are likely to encounter in your gardens and green spaces and that can usually be identified in the field or from a good photograph. We will split the day between indoor sessions and time spent outdoors practising field identification.
All welcome – training and equipment is provided on the day and no previous experience required. If you have your own copy of ‘A Field Guide to Bees of Britain and Ireland’ by Steven Falk and Richard Lewington It will be useful to have this with you the day but not essential
